We stopped by on a quiet Monday evening and immediately loved the vibe we received. Friendly and attentive. The decor is cozy and everything was clean. The two dishes we got (Butter chicken and Korma) were fantastic. Mild spice and naan for dipping was perfection. Great Indian spot to have in town. I will definitely go back for the occasional treat!

I had an incredible experience at this Indian restaurant! The flavors were absolutely amazing—rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. Stopped at Deccan Spice on my road trip from Boston to Texas and had an amazing experience! I tried the masala dosa, samosa chaat, and mango lassi—everything was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were generous. Special thanks to Shashi at the front who helped me with the order and recommended some great in-house specials. The service was professional, kind, and made me feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through!

Family style servings of delicious, aromatic flavors. I had the mutton biryani and my dad had the chicken tikka kebabs with basmati. We started with some samosas of potato and peas and caramelized onion varieties. Both very tasty. The family who owns and operates the business are very sweet and attentive and ready to answer any questions. Very pleased with my Mother's Day brunch.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Deccan Spice! What truly stood out was the home-style cooking—you could taste the freshness in every bite, with no MSG or artificial flavors. The fish pakora was crispy, flavorful, and light, just like something you’d get at home. The mutton pulao was aromatic and comforting, with perfectly cooked rice and tender mutton that melted in the mouth. The coriander chicken was refreshingly unique, with a burst of fresh herbs and spices that made it both healthy and delicious.

Had mutton kheema with bullet naan's and it was perfectly spiced, offering an authentic and rich flavor. The texture was spot on—tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The spice blend was well-balanced, enhancing the dish without overpowering it. The ambiance complemented the meal, making for an enjoyable dining experience. TLDR: Highly recommend, super flavorful, super rich and deep flavors, extremely satiesfied, will return. Update Jun 28, 2025. Came back after months and still great food and great service. There are a few new things on the menu that we need to come back sooner to try. We forgot that the food is so rich that it really fills you up fast. We bought some to go orders to take up to in laws as well. Love this place. We've been looking for a good Indian place in the area for awhile and can finally stop searching. We stopped in on a random Tuesday evening. Service and food were both great. The chef/owner was super kind and helpful. You can scan the QR code on the back of their menu for more in depth dish descriptions as well as pictures of the dishes. Temperatures were starting to drop so we were craving some spicy spice for our meal. I apologize to the business now because I can't remember how to spell the name of two of the dishes we ordered but they were really good. The portion sizes look a little small but everything is so flavorful and rich that it will fill you up. Everything is made from scratch, no pre-packaged spice mix or sauce packets. We first started with a spicy fried chicken dish. It was at the top of my wife's spice tolerance but we both really enjoyed it. For my main, I ordered a spicy goat stew type dish, again, super flavorful and somewhat spicy. The meat was tender, fall off the bone, but still juicy. My wife ordered butter chicken. The sweetness of her chicken balanced nicely with the spiciness of my goat. We also ordered garlic Naan and bullet Naan. They do not skimp on the garlic and both Naan were thin with great texture. The bullet Naan I think is supposed to have some spice....but to be fair, we had pretty much saturated our palates with spice on spice that I couldn't tell if it was spicy or not. Lastly, we had a mango Lassi, which the owner's wife made. This is a nice thick texture, smooth, and not overly sweet. A very good compliment to our dishes. Come check this place out and chances are you'll want to return. I believe the chef/owner mentioned he was from Southern India but their menu has dishes from all over.

A Flavour Bomb in Roanoke- Deccan Spice is a Must-Try! Ordered the Karampodi Chicken, Mutton Dum Biryani and Bullet Naan with Malai kofta, everything was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. The Karampodi Chicken had just the right heat, the biryani was rich and aromatic with tendor mutton, the naan was soft and fresh. Great food, generous portions, and authentic Deccan flavours. For food-o-holics like me, this place is a paradise
